Convert a Bank Statement PDF
Convert a text-based bank statement PDF: upload it, review each transaction, then download Excel, CSV, or OFX. 5 free pages. Deleted 24 hours after upload.
This is the short path from a statement PDF to a file you can actually use. The converter on the homepage does the extraction. The format pages explain which download to pick.
1. Check the PDF before you upload
Open the statement and try to select a line of text. If you can, it is a text-based PDF and it can be converted. If the page is a photograph or a scan with no text layer, it cannot. Bank statements and credit card statements are both accepted. The size limit is 20 MB.
You do not need to rename the file. Keep the original. The upload is deleted 24 hours later, and the PDF is still the source you should compare against.
2. Sign in and convert
Sign in with Google. Choose the PDF, then pick Excel, CSV, JSON, or Markdown. Excel and CSV are the two formats most people download first. Start the conversion. You can leave the page. The job keeps running, and the workspace lists it when you come back.
Every account starts with 5 free pages. A longer statement needs a paid page pack or subscription from the pricing page.
3. Read the rows
Open the finished job. The columns are Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance, Category, Account, and Period. Look for a description that was split across lines, an amount in the wrong debit or credit column, and a balance that does not follow the transactions. Edit those cells in the job. Category appears on plans that include categorization.
4. Download the file you will actually use
- Excel when a person will review or share a workbook.
- CSV when another system wants a flat file.
- OFX when accounting software should import a statement file.
- QuickBooks QBO when the import target is QuickBooks. The same job can write a Xero CSV.
OFX, QBO, and Xero CSV are on Basic, Professional, and Business. They are not on the free plan. Export them from the job after the review, not from the first format buttons.
5. Stop if something looks wrong
Do not import a file that does not match the PDF. A missed page, a scrambled amount, or a statement in a layout the extractor did not follow is a reason to keep the PDF and fix or discard the rows. The format guide helps when the only open question is which download to keep.
